As part of our school response to Covid-19, we may need to move to formal online learning. We are asking parents to complete the Online Learning Survey which can be accessed from the link below. Thank you.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8SQBS9T On Friday we had a house mufti day to celebrate our houses. Later in the term our house leaders will be elected, so this was a great way to meet our Year 6's who would like to be candidates. Check out our house groups below.
Kia ora whanau
We have had a wonderful two weeks back at school. They have been hot ones, but the children have loved being back with their friends and making new friends! We welcome Miss Cain in Room 11, and all the new children who have started at Tinwald this year. Tinwald School had an awesome day last Friday visiting the Arowhenua Marae in Temuka. For many students it was their first time taking part in a Powhiri (formal welcoming ceremony) and it was a fantastic learning experience about the Maori culture. Well done to those who were brave enough to share their Mihi with all of us there! The children had a great afternoon doing activities such as flax weaving, rock art, poi and rakau.
A small group of Tinwald School students performed at the opening of the new Countdown store this morning. The group did 3 songs before they officially opened the store to the public. Check out some photos and videos below. Thursday had a great end to it up at Mt Hutt Retreat with the waterslide and then the camp concert. Check out some photos...
The camp rotations are in full swing with each group rotating around mountain biking, low ropes, kayaking, archery and air rifles and abseiling. It is a beautiful day up at Mt Hutt Retreat on Thursday and everyone is looking forward to the waterslide to finish the day. Check out some pictures from Wednesday and Thursday... |
